How Chateau Retirement Communities Used Reverb’s Services to Improve Team Dynamics, HR Efficiency, and Company Culture
Using Reverb’s People Operations, Coaching, and Leadership Development expertise, Chateau increased their HR efficiency, trained their management team, and created succession plans for key roles.
Chateau Retirement Communities works actively with residents to fulfill their promise to “live life on your terms.” During a goal planning session in the fall of 2018, Chateau recognized that they did not have the internal resources to support their HR goals. They identified several critical needs:
After identifying areas for improvement, Chateau, searched for a partner who could honor their reputation of success and stability and their value of “leading with both the heart and the mind.” Reverb was the perfect match for them.
Chateau was eager to find an objective third-party service provider to help them meet their HR goals. Reverb’s People Operations consultant helped them overhaul their onboarding experience and ensure the culture and tone of Chateau were embedded in onboarding. To create an effective, engaging, and comprehensive management training program, Chateau worked with a Reverb Facilitator to design and deliver a 3-year manager training plan. Their multi-year approach started with a needs analysis and workshops on good manager fundamentals. In year two they launched advanced manager skills and adopted a “leaders coaching leaders” approach. Year three included ongoing development and a new program for more advanced managers.
Chateau also worked with Reverb’s leadership coaches to uplevel their executive leaders. Reverb coaches also provided customized development and assisted with succession planning. Not only did coaches help clarify long-term goals, they also assisted in providing a new framework for leaders. Coaching proved so successful that Chateau started offering coaching to emerging leaders.
After visiting Chateau’s three communities and interviewing managers to learn what they needed from HR, Reverb identified opportunities and made recommendations for best practices, automation, and building capacity as leaders. The manager training was a big hit. “Their personal experience as a manager, coupled with humor and an enviable talent to know and refer to each participant by name created a great environment.” The Chateau team re-engaged the facilitator months later to keep the training alive and looks forward to working with consultants and coaches on future projects.
