Helping People Leaders Meet DEI, Manager Development, and Networking Goals in 2021

We recently conducted a People Leader survey, and are using the results to fine-tune our 2021 plans at Reverb. This means adding new manager development topics, refreshing The Seattle HR Collective Meetup, and making your goals our priority. I’m excited to share the survey results and next steps with you, as well as a few helpful recommendations and resources.

Let Us Help You Meet Your Goals

At Reverb, our goal is to support your and your teams while creating community by connecting People professionals and supporting HR professional development. Along with our network of friends and partners, we’d love to be part of your solution in 2021.

DEI SERIES FOR PEOPLE LEADERS

New this year, Reverb is partnering with leading DEI experts. We’ve developed a one of a kind program designed in the wake of the murder of George Floyd, to help busy People Leaders deliver on the imperative of increasing inclusion and decreasing racism in their organizations. This is a combined approach to learning and implementation over a three to four month period. Our pilot program kicks off in Q1 and space is limited to twenty people. If you’d like to learn more, share your information here.

MANAGER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS

We’ve added a brand new course called the Art of Management, in addition to continuing popular topics like manager fundamentals and coaching for managers. You can find the complete schedule here. We also offer custom workshops on topics including Career Development and Performance Management.

BUILDING HR COMMUNITY

Community is something I’m personally passionate about, and it’s hard to feel like we’re doing enough. At the same time, we know how busy you are so we’re hosting fewer events while making it easier to network. We’re also going to provide even more actionable takeaways on topics that are important to you.

Here are three easy ways to grow your HR network:

1) Join the Seattle HR Collective Meetup. We’re planning sessions on mentor matching, compensation for HR leaders, and more. There will be designated time to network with other professionals during each event. It’s free and we’d love for you to join us.

2) Join the Seattle Startup HR Slack Channel and/or Hacking HR Slack Channel. Slack is invite-only so please send a message to kylie@reverbpeople.com and tell her which one (or both) you’d like to join.

3) Several people expressed interest in joining an HR Mastermind group. My friend and colleague Suzanne Campbell runs a fantastic group called The Round Up. Here are the details if you’re interested in joining:

The Round Up is an HR Executive Peer Group that focuses on bringing HR leaders together. We are a mix of small and large companies with experiences across all industries. Our members have monthly discussions on trending topics, mid-month small group lunch breaks to build community, and a digital platform to share resources that makes connecting with other members easier. Find out more here: https://theroundup.community/

Bonus Event: Our friends at HackingHR run high caliber global events with experts from all over the world and have a Seattle specific event happening next week. I encourage you to join and follow them.
